Carmel Valley Fiesta Events
The Carmel Valley Kiwanis Club sponsors the Carmel Valley Fiesta every August. This year, in addition to the BBQ, parade, classic car show, dog show, music, booths and other events there will be an 8+ mile run starting at 8 am.
The run leaves the Dampierre Little League field of Paso Honda Road and winds through Garland Ranch Regional Park. Having re-introduced a Carmel Valley Fiesta Run (it ended 8 years ago), it has been renamed to the Carmel Valley Fiesta Mountain Run.
Adults of all ages are welcome, but be aware the terrain can be steep, rugged, dusty, and a challenge. Designed by trail runners including Grant Swanson, Chris Hanson, Brian Rowlett, Mahir Agha, and Richard Averett, the course is all on trails.
There will still be the Big Sur Marathon-sponsored 1K Just Run kids run at 10am; for kids ages 5-13 but every one is welcome, even 4-legged participants.
Speaking of 4 legs, the Carmel Valley Fiesta Dog Show starts at 10 am in the Community Center on Ford Road. There is a $5 entrance fee which pays for the trophies.
Don’t forget the parade! It is right after the Just Run kids’ run.
