Meet Dua, an Asian fresh water otter at the Monterey Aquarium.. Yeah, Dua is a show-off for sure; the idea though is to display otters’ dexterity and lengthen feeding times. All for our entertainment and education. The Aquarium even uses a Yamaha keyboard.

Monterey, CA – Monterey Bay Aquarium has received a three-year, $772,000 grant from Nokia that will allow a significant expansion of the aquarium’s long-term environmental education partnership with Pajaro Valley Unified School District to bring the program to more high school students in the district.

Come enjoy the extended hours at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturdays and Sundays, July 4 through September 6, when they are open until 8 p.m.
Make an evening of it. Weekend evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. feature not only fewer crowds, but live music from Monterey Jazz Festival musicians along with Monterey Jazz Festival wine and beer bar in the Marine Mammal Hall. You can also find the Espresso cart featuring an expanded menu for a light dinner or snack.

I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium. And so do a lot of others. It really is world famous and people from around the world come to see the fabulous exhibits. You’ll catch a few locals there, too.
One great program at the Monterey Bay Aquarium is the Sea Otter exhibit. These wonderful sea otters came to the Aquarium as rescued animals that were not able to survive in the wild. They are quite at home, though, and you can see them romp and tumble just as they would in the wild.
