Lawrence Roeck and Carmel the Movie

13 June 2009 979 views 3 Comments

I met Lawrence Roeck Friday evening at Il Fornaio in Carmel. An extremely gracious man, Lawrence filled me in on the latest news regarding the delayed release of Carmel the Movie. With around 50 investors, a select few have been problematic; their meddling in the production and consequent legal problems are holding up the film’s debut. Boo.

Lawrence is not letting this stop him; he has another production planned. It is about a man who both surfs and owns a huge conglomeration of companies. He mysteriously disappears, and a sighting of him years later prompts his brother to try to find him before the people who have taken control of his wealth can get to him.

paulwalkerHe mentioned that Paul Walker ( pictured; the hot guy from Eight Below) has discussed the project, as well as Clint Eastwood’s younger son Scott Reeves (who acted in Flags of Our Fathers).

Here’s hoping Carmel the Movie is playing soon; it would be a shame if a few disgruntled people from Pebble Beach ruin it for the rest of us.

The man is anything but gracious. I was a vendor on the film, he has bills that are several months pastdue. In the amount of several thousand dollars.

Perhaps because he was promised funds that were not paid to him?

I would like to retract the above statement i made towards Lawrence Roech. I have learned that he is not an owner or part of the management team for Carmell the MOvie LLC. i was let to believe he was. That being said,he is not liable for any funds owed to our company. Again i retract the statement that was made on incorrect infomation.
